Silverbelle is a child of the Hampden (Baltimore City) streets. Three years ago, we found her abandoned on a bench on Falls Road in Hampden. She was shaking and dirty. I snatched her up and she lived with an elderly woman friend of mine for three years. We are fostering Silverbelle because my elderly woman friend can no longer take care of her. We cannot keep her as we live in an apartment with other animals, as there is not enough room for all of us on a permanent basis. Silverbelle loves cats and people of all sorts but usually she does not like dogs who are bigger than she. She loves to go for walks on a leash and she loves being outside.
Silverbelle recently had a cancerous mammary tumor removed. The vet took X-rays and has indicated that the tumor has not spread; however, she will need yearly X-rays to make sure she is OK. She loves to eat and is overweight (and likes to go for the cats' food), so she has been getting long walks everyday. Also, she has skin allergies for which she is taking medication. Otherwise, she is perky and ready to go most days.
