Meet Charlie-poo. Charlie is a cockapoo male who was just rescued from a puppy mill. When Charlie came to us, he had been living in a cage and covered in his own filth. He was also terrified. He is warming up to his foster mom and looks like a whole new dog. In case you aren't familiar with puppy mills, they are where pet store animals come from. Not all puppy mills are bad places. However, many times the animals are kept in deplorable conditions and can develop illnesses and have a high rate of dying while they are waiting to leave the puppy mill for the puppy store. Supporting pet stores without asking where the puppies and cats come from and inspecting the mill yourself is enabling animal creulty. Not all dogs are as lucky as our Charlie.
